ISoft InfoTech successfully designed and developed a Cloud-Based Relief Valve Tracking System for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Kochi Refinery, Kerala, to digitally monitor and manage the inspection, servicing, and installation lifecycle of Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs) during refinery turnaround operations.
The objective of the project was to replace manual tracking with a centralized digital solution that provides real-time visibility into the movement and servicing status of more than 1,200 relief valves across multiple refinery units and maintenance workshops.
The system was developed as a cloud-based web application with mobile support, enabling engineers, technicians, and contractors to update valve status instantly using QR code technology. Every relief valve was assigned a unique QR code, allowing seamless identification, tracking, and reporting throughout the maintenance process.
The application was designed to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual errors, enhance traceability, and provide complete visibility of valve movement during refinery shutdown activities.
The application tracks every stage of the relief valve servicing process, including:
The Relief Valve Tracking System significantly improved operational transparency during refinery turnaround activities by digitizing asset tracking and inspection workflows.
The application enabled BPCL engineers and contractors to monitor valve movement in real time, minimize manual documentation, reduce tracking errors, and generate accurate reports throughout the maintenance cycle.
By implementing QR-based digital tracking, ISoft InfoTech helped streamline refinery maintenance operations, improve coordination among multiple teams, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
